HELLO 2C !!!

About the class chalet; here's what we have decided on so far (tentatively) and the details:

Location: Aloha Changi
Date: 8 Nov - 11 Nov (4D3N or 3D2N)
Pricing: $100 -$150 per night (before civil servant discount)
Room size: living room + 4 bedrooms + kitchen + bbq pit

We're suggesting 8-11 Nov cause it's the days which are cheapest throughout our whole holiday (late Nov - Dec is like $300 siao!), so we're sorry if we won't be able to suit everyones needs :(

Yep and we chose Aloha Changi cause it's cheap and super super big! Although it's located very far from those attractions like cinemas or escape or wild wild wet or what not, class chalet should be for class bonding right? :) So we were thinking since the place is big maybe we could have things like dai di tournament, mahjong tournament, blackjack etc etc
or snap/ reversi/ bingo anything la hahahahha depending on what everyone brings! Everyone must play! :)

Someone can bring scary movies too heehee or pokemon, though I'm not sure if there's a DVD player — we might have to bring that as well.

We can explore the deserted changi hospital! :O Or go to the airport runway? I don't know if can la lol but we can try hahahaha it'll be such a fun class expedition!

Top 5 things to relive our memories of 2C:
1) Wear the class tee everywhere! Wear it on outings, in school, at camps, when you are perched on the toilet bowl, when you are sleeping, and you can even dance around in it at home!
2) Look at the lame comments/ photos of 2C and LAUGH.
3) Remember the idiotic (and fun) things we did when we were together
4) Hang your PE shirts, shorts, RV uniforms, and other random articles of clothing on any window you see to emulate the 2C way of doing laundry.
5) Rmb the milo-mixing, the DDR-ing, the pillow-fights, the midnight movies, the butt-wetting, the ass-freezing, the splashing, splatting and general monkeying around as a class :D

Hellos 2C and Merry Christmas ^^ Well the class blog seems a little dead D: And I have no personal blog to post this on so I hope you guys won't mind me using the class blog. I wanted to hand-write these but I doubt all of us will meet up at one go either. So I'll cut short most of them and post here :D

Ah Meng! Old already must admit... Cannot live in denial xD Joking, you can be livelier and more childish (or more eccentric) than us. What with all your attempts to startle people and various random ways of inflicting pain.

But you're still the "adult" among us, which you clearly showed during class chalet and being motherly to us xD

It was fun being chairperson with you. All our shushing really annoyed the class. But anyway, don't become so emo so often anymore. And sleep early so you stop over-sleeping (or coming to school as a zombie)!

Aww next year we won't be able to do our lucky exam handshake thingy anymore T-T But let's imagine doing it anyway ^^ And we must remember our fleas! If they explode we have to call each other! December holidays next year we must gather with Lydia again to make fleas too. And ddr. And play the funny-zombie-walk-shootshoot game.

You're definitely one of the people I will miss the most! The times I had with you were really memorable and definitely of the most enjoyable. And I still remember the thing about the story of the fly LOL. I also remember you wrote down quotes from people in your humanities journal. Do you still remember? I remember the quote from Mr Chia about being in the mirror room of some place I forgot where >.<>

You repeated it so many times xD And your "luo ye" joke is going to stick in my mind for quite some time. I still want to sushi youuu ^^. Play Little Fighter 2 together as well since the network thing is so unreliable. Also you were a great comfort to me at times, even if

you don't know what you actually did. Hopefully we can keep in contact till we're grown-ups and continue to be friends.

Don't get so worked up about all your idols (who aren't cute or shuai at all :X )! On second thought, I guess its alright cos it's something I'll remember you by. You always become so hyper and jidong when you chat about something you feel strongly about and most of the time it's really hilarious. Anyway jiayous in NCC and at least enjoy the time you spend with your platoon mates even if you don't really like drill. xD

Belle!!! Still can't imitate your whispery "Hi..." >.< Anyway you're a really nice person and is so chio! Don't bother denying it. And so zai in so many things. In both sports and academics and being such a likeable person :D You're doing well so far,coping with SC stuff, normal school stuff and your various other commitments. I hope you do even better and maybe take up more responsibilities, because I know you can cope with it and excel!

JAMIEEEEEE :D I'll miss you sosososoSO much next year. T-T Must wait to meet up with me when I visit RVHS! cos the distance is kinda far >.<

I enjoyed Year 2 life with you, especially since you made light of almost everything and made most things funny. I've been influenced by your optimistic outlook that you keep on nearly 100% of them time. I also became louder and maybe not so anti-social towards guys as a result of being close to you, and that's a good thing so I'm really grateful.

And don't be so careless or something and stop getting injured or some other stuff okay? Don't make me worry when I can't see you xD If anything happens you know how to get me. Even though most likely you will be getting closer friends to confide in next year I'll still be there for you if you want me.

I shared so many times I will remember for quite some time. Like the time I walked into the door upstairs to the art room and that business with shao and the toilet. And the time you laughed while eating and well... you know what happened next. At least these were the funny moments, the more precious ones I won't post here.

We definitely MUST and WILL keep in contact! It's already a deal to work out at the gym next time (so we don't get flabby O_o) and if both of us manage to become lawyers we shall see if we can work together. ^^

When you become IC of any squad must tell me kay. I want to watch you command them. And bully and torment and taunt and torture them ^^. Your squad will be so lucky.

Hope you manage to achieve your goals, whatever they may be cos you definitely deserve to. Go for it! ^^

We also only got closer in Year 2 but it was really great cos you're such a wonderful and understanding friend to have. I think you were one of the only people who have truly understood me in my school life.

Anyway you are SUPER efficient!!! Do anything also at supernatural speed. Do homework do so fast, speak also can speak so fast (and for very long I dunno how you breathe), go toilet also so fast! :X You'll definitely do well in life since you're so hardworking and determined. You'll also have many friends seeing as you are a good friend and good work partner. We discussed so many school things from homework to exams and I really did benefit from it. I enjoyed discussing things with you so much I often ended up spending whole lessons doing my work on your table and spent so much time facing the back of the class rather than the front. Must keep in contact okay, I don't want to lose a friend like you. That would be a disaster.

So we must meet up other than times when I return to RVHS. That's a must ^^

Anyway, don't get so emo so often. You're much better than any low expectation you might have of yourself. I actually think you're already very talented seeing your dancing skills and also being a nice person.

There were also quite a few times that brought us closer and I am sososo happy that those times did happen. They helped me find a good, close friend. We must keep in touch so when we become grown-ups we can become good friends like how we said after watching the girly Super Junior thingy xD

Hahas and you're not allowed to forget my birthday or you know what's coming for you. A BIG FAT SLAP grr. So as long as you keep that as your pm in msn I think you will remember. You'd better.

Didn't get close to you during the Spastic Association, with all the special loser clap and the chicken powder puff or whatever it was, but after that. I remember you were the first guy I wasn't very cold to in Year 1, but we never became closer. But the chalet was really bonding, with all our chats at gazebos (which is pronounced GAA-ZEE-BO s LOL) and all Counter-strike games when we were really bored.

And the milo-mixedwithalotofvariousingredients drink was really a success xD Especially since although it smelt too interesting to seem safe to drink it actually tasted nice.

It's been fun throwing weird insults at each other, and I think we wouldn't become the same sort of friends as we are now if we were just being nice to each other and not being horribly mean in all sorts of ways. Glad to have a friend like you.

Bonbonbon ^^ Wahh I've already written something for you on the class pic, so I don't think this one will be very long although I have loads to say to you but they can't be phrased properly >.<

Even though I've never confided in you any real things I felt about my personal life (which I didn't do to others anyway), you somehow can help me to forget a little and bring a little shine to my day. You did so many funny and cute actions and always told jokes with varying degrees of funny, from the extreme lame to the extreme hilarious. And you manage to get so many jokes that I would never have thought of the answer to, I don't know how you do it. Your brain really is a magnificent piece of work. I bet you'll be able to put it to good use and succeed in life. Just stop being so careless! Especially in your maths work. You always get minused a little here and there due to carelessness and the little minuses becomes one BIG minus.

Just want you to know that I will never forget you as being a special friend to me and I sincerely hope we can remain friends for a long time to come.

I also want to thank you for making the times I spent with you in 2C during and after sitting with you so enjoyable and so absolutely memorable.

Got closer to you during the chalet too, similar to clive. Counter-strike-ing and milo mixing and chatting at gazebos. Your imitations are still so funny I remember them very clearly and I still laugh at them. My family thinks I'm mad sometimes when they see me laughing to myself.

We would have had alot more fun in the empty shopping center if clive didn't suddenly feel tired and had to sleep AHEM. His fault. No lah joking you had to sleep. Eh this passage is supposed to be to twiggy not to clive. Back to yc then.

Anyway you're a nice guy. I didn't really like you at first since I thought you were just one of those stupid boys who make alot of noise and trouble. But after a while I knew better. It was fun dragging you around by the collar though xD

Don't irritate people so much anymore, there's a limit to things. But you're really nice and is a good friend who would lend a listening ear readily. You also help people if they need it. I've had three people as my teachers in 2C and you were one of them along with xinlei and bon. You were the funniest among the three cos you were always so blur and you'd forget what you were teaching me halfway and end up getting confused by me too so we ended up both confused. xD

You're also really smart and hardworking so I don't doubt that you will be successful in life. And you're really cute, what with your laugh and all. Be your nice self more often and you'll be a really likeable person.

Didn't know you at all until we started to chat a little in msn. Knew then you could be trusted and is really quite nice. And you respect other people's decisions and choices well. You seem to be childish and is very blur in class, but you're quite sensitive and mature when I got to know you better, although you're still blur.

We hit quite a rough patch once, hopefully that's gone and we can still be good friends. Sorry about that.

Anyway, you're someone who's very easy to like too. I'm sure you'll be very popular and make many friends so you have a very wide social circle. You and bon make a good pair of friends too, especially since you're not that good with words. Really hope you'll do well in school and still continue to be so pro at soccer. Also hope you grow to be at least 170+cm, as you want to.

A cat, along with a flask containing a poison, is placed in a sealed box. If a counter detects radiation, the flask is shattered, releasing the poison that kills the cat. After a while, the cat is both alive and dead. Yet, when we look in the box, we see the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead.

The paradox is actually an experiment called “Schrodinger’s Cat” and can be explained using quantum physics, which in layman terms, describe how probabilities change with time. Though I don’t think that there is any correct or wrong answer, this is what I think it is. Assuming the box is opaque, we are unable to see what is going on inside the box. Hence, we also do not know if the cat is alive or dead. If the poison takes 10 minutes to kill the cat, after 5 minutes there is a 50% probability that the cat is alive, and 50% probability that the cat is dead. Even if we look in the 20^th minute, there may still be a 0.0001% probability that the cat is alive and a 99.9999% probability that it is dead. This is probably why the cat is both alive and dead. (Something like the cat is 0.0001% alive and 99.9999% dead) However, when we open the box, we only see that the cat is either alive or dead as it is impossible for it to be alive and dead.

2 years has past by in a blink of an eye. Subconsciously, every one of us has changed, be it a little or drastically. This class has been one that changed me a lot, even beyond what I had expected.

I could still remember on the very first day of school when the PSLs asked us to introduce ourselves to each other, I could not even be bothered to talk to Desmond, who was sitting to my right. It was until he started the ball rolling then did I reluctantly tell him my name. As you may have noticed, in the beginning, I was the anti-social kind who believed in doing things individually. Yet, at the end of two years, I could still go for the class chalet. Initially, I attributed the cause of this phenomenon to be me succumbing to sentimental feelings resulting in me relenting to my peer’s influence. However, upon deeper pondering, I realised that this was not true. This class had changed me from an anti-social person, to a more sociable one, who now believes in things like friendship and teamwork. Though I still admit that I will not join Yan Chong and company in doing some things, this minor change that has aroused in me has already been out of my expectations.

Another aspect of mine that changed over this period of time was that I became more hardworking. Thanks to the help of Bryan, I had motivation to study. Frankly speaking, I did not have any aims to achieve at the start of this year, but as I progressed, something inside me wanted to beat him. On top of that, Bryan also let me realize my dream and that I had to work hard to achieve it, which gave me another reason to work harder to surpass him. Though I still did not beat Bryan ultimately, I’m still glad that I had progressed so much in just 2 years.

Now, all that is left to top off the year beautifully is the release of the subject combination results on the 27^th November. I hope that everyone would be able to get into the subject combination of their choice and excel there while having fun.

Before I end off, there are three important people that I would like to thank. Elizabelle, (for teaching and guiding me in Mathematics sometime in the middle of the year), Foong Hui (for advising me on the subject combination) and Bryan (for being my great source of inspiration).

I hope and trust that we will remember each other, even though we will be pursuing our own discipline of our interest. Thank you 2C'09 and lets keep in touch!

hey 2c! the class chalet will be held on the 9, 10, 11 and 12 of nov . 4D3N. at costa sands downtown east. we'll be going to wild wild wet (its not a mus to wear swimming costume so dun worry! haha.) maybe ice-skating and we'll be playing lots of games tgt. its more of a free and easy chalet tis time but there'll still be activities to bond the class tgt :D here are some details of the chalet..

Deluxe Room:

-fully air-conditioned(yay!)

-twin beds with 2 pull-out beds

-attached bathroom, with towels

-television set and dvd player

-refrigerator

-hot water flask

-free wireless internet surfing

孩子考不上好大学　重庆农民怒烧课本

重庆北碚区农民马泽民一直希望子女考上大学，毕业后找一份体面的工作，跳出"农"门。为此，他外出打工20载，并将打工所赚的钱全部花在四个孩子的求学上。然而，其长女在今年高考后，仅收到贵州一所不知名学校的补录通知书，他一怒之下，烧掉孩子们的课本，并要四个子女弃学养猪。
据当地媒体报道，马泽民的长女马明（化名）在丰都二中读高中，是村里唯一读高中的女孩。她今年6月参加高考，考了500分，超出二本线20分（中国大学录取考生是从高分到低分、分批次录取的。一本是指第一批次录取的本科大学，大多数是全国重点大学。二本是指第二批次录取的本科大学，大多数是一般的综合性大学，在师资、硬件等方面与一本大学有一定差距）。然而，在7月8日高校招生录取工作开始后，直到二本录取快要结束了，马明还没有收到录取通知书，这让马泽民非常着急。
7月22日，马泽民接到女儿的电话，说没有考上大学，这让他难以置信，双腿发软。
随后，马泽民吩咐妻子把孩子们的书都烧了，并决定让四个孩子辍学，让他们在家里养猪养牛。
马泽民的另外三个孩子分别为9岁、11岁、12岁，原本正在上小学和初中。
马泽民说，马明上高中每月生活费400元（人民币，下同，约84新元），一年学费2000多元，加上其他杂费，一年要7000多元；而自己在外打工，每月收入1800元左右，女儿三年高中开销相当于他一年不吃不喝的全部收入。
他还说，回想自己14岁外出打工，24岁结婚生子，为了供养孩子读书，被炸瞎了右眼、失去了一根手指，没有存下一分钱，心里非常难过，并觉得当初执意让女儿读书的决定没有任何意义，十分后悔。
在中国国内一些区县学校，类似马明这种考不上好大学、父母直接让其弃学的现象正在增多。据媒体报道，河南滑县六中有一个班共82人，其中有三人因为没有考上名牌大学而弃学。
今年高考前，重庆上万名高考生弃考，舆论普遍认为，这是"读书无用"论抬头的一种体现。

those who did not learn 听写 and have already taken it, you all can start doing corrections if you know that you are going to fail. Cause if you have failed before, you will know that corrections are time consuming and they make your hand ache. If it happens that on that day that you're supposed to do corrections and you have a lot of homework as well, you can forget about sleeping, so please, if you have spare time, do some corrections first. This is to prevent yourself from dying from exhaustion. But don't just do for the sake of doing k? Concentrate while doing, it helps to get it stuck in your head.

Revision for Mathematics Test

Hello everyone,

For those who are interested in doing revision for their upcoming Mathematics Test on Wednesday, there has been a worksheet uploaded by Ms Zeng into the "Year 2 Mathematics 2009" workbin on IVLE. The worksheet is in the folder "Additional Revision Materials" and is entitled "Y2 Term 3 Revision". Personally, I think some of the questions there are not bad and I think the test should be somewhere around that standard.
